International Conference on Multimedia & Expo (ICME 2012)

My paper "Automatic Video Editing For Video-Based Interactive Storytelling" as been accepted for publication at the 2012 IEEE International Conference on Multimedia & Expo (ICME 2012)

The IEEE International Conference on Multimedia & Expo is the longest established and most prestigious conference in the field of multimedia. It serves as a forum to promote the exchange of the latest advances in multimedia technologies, systems, and applications from both the research and development perspectives of the circuits and systems, communications, computer, and signal processing communities.

The 2012 IEEE International Conference on Multimedia & Expo is being held in Melbourne, Australia in 9th – 13th July, 2012.

My paper presents a real-time method for automatic video editing in video-based interactive storytelling applications. My approach was based in translating cinematography editing theory into computational knowledge to automatically select appropriated transition effects, avoid jump cuts, and create smoothly and continuous video sequences.
